They were made of a small piece of woolen cloth, on which was a picture of the Heart of Jesus. Originally it wasworn as a badge and later it wasalso worn like a scapular on cords. THE GREENSCAPULARThe Green Scapular was given to usby the Blessed Virgin Mary in the early 1840%u2019s in France. The Mother of Christ appeared holding in her right hand her Immaculate Heart, and in her other hand a green scapular. The scapular was a piece of green cloth hanging from a green string. On one side was an image of her dressed in a long white gown with a blue mantle but no veil.
